Youth took to burglary to keep his seven girlfriends happy

Nagpur: Not just one or two, a 26-year-old youth took to burglary to meet the demands of his seven girlfriends. The list of his girlfriends and the amount he has spent on them shocked Mankapur police team, who had been on the track of the notorious burglar from past few weeks. The accused, identified as Omprakash Khandare, belongs to Borkhed in Buldhana.

Police said that recently he had shifted to the town for his seventh girlfriend, who is from the city. “He has been staying here for the past four months for his new girlfriend, a Standard XII student from the city. Khandare has befriended her through a social networking site and later proposed to her,” said Sanjay Latkar, DCP Zone II.
Latkar said Khandare had gifted the teenager many costly items. Police said that they are yet to question the girl. Khandare has many offences of burglaries and robberies against him at Chhattisgarh, MP, Wardha, Pune and Bhusawal.
Khandare was arrested in Bollywood style from the Nagpur Central railway station on Monday by Mankapur police team. In the last four months, Mankapur police had registered many burglary cases in the area. Under the guidance of ACP Somnath Waghchourey, PI PN Bhatkar and his team headed by PSI KB Bhagat were investigating the cases when they came to know about Khandare’s involvement in the cases.
Police said Khandare has committed seven burglaries in Mankapur area in the recent past. Police have seized 17 cell phones and gold ornaments worth Rs4.5 lakh from him. Police said Khandare, who used to travel only by AC compartment, had even robbed many railway passengers.
